The new app comes in 21 languages on all 3 platforms. Qik is a product of a small team in Skype who have been developing the app for the past six months.
Qik was created to address the mobile market that is moving away from scheduled one-to-one communication especially with the general shift from desktop to mobile.
Although Qik is part of the Skype family, it uses a different technology, video streaming.
