#Tech: Skype launches Qik

Skype today launched a video messenger app called Skype Qik for Andriod, iPhone, Windows phones.
The new app comes in 21 languages on all 3 platforms. Qik is a product of a small team in Skype who have been developing the app for the past six months.

Qik was created to address the mobile market that is moving away from scheduled one-to-one communication especially with the general shift from desktop to mobile.

Although Qik is part of the Skype family, it uses a different technology, video streaming.

Nigeria vs Sudan, Do or Die

After 2 losses in the opening 3 rounds of the qualifying round for Orange AFCON 2015 Morocco and just a point to show so far, there is really no room for error for the defending champions. The Super Eagles must win their remaining 3 matches and hope that other results go their way.

This is not the scenario chief coach Keshi and his technical crew envisaged at the start of the qualifiers.

The Nigerian Football Federation NFF, has been in disarray and many blame poor performances on the problems within the football house. Keshi has to shoulder most of the blame as his team have failed to impress in 3 matches and his refusal to call-up some players, who are in top form in their various European clubs, to the national team isn't helping matters.

The 2014 winner, Nina Davuluri, went home with $50,000 and the an estimated 1.1 million viewers watched the event.

$3m Ghana World Cup row to be made into a movie.

According the Guardian, the scandal which threatened to disrupt Ghana's 2014 World Cup will be made into a movie.

Ghana players threatened to go on strike if their bonuses were not payed. This promoted the Ghanaian government to fly $3m in cash to Brazil.

The story attracted the attention of US writer Darryl Wharton-Rigby who has been contracted to pen the original script.

“But it’s really about the journey of the guy who actually is entrusted to deliver the money and what happens if he doesn’t get it there in time.

“I actually want the guy who’s the hero of the story to be from Ghana. I think there should be a hero who is African telling the story." he told the BBC.

Malala becomes youngest ever Nobel Peace Prize winner

At 17, Malala Yousafzai is the youngest recipient of the Noble Peace Price.

In 2012 she was shot in the head by the Taliban in Afghanistan for campaigning for girls' education.

She shares this years'  Nobel Peace Price with Mr Satyarthi 60, an Indian child right activist.

New Music: Seyi Shay "Because We Care" Official soundtrack for 2014 Genevieve Magazine Pink Ball

Seyi Shay, a known Nigerian singer, songwriter and recording artist becomes the first ambassador for the Genevieve Pink Ball foundation, a foundation that supports the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

 Seyi Shay penned the song for the Genevieve Pink Ball foundation titled ‘Because We Care’, produced by London Boyz. Her interest in the foundation was inspired by a personal experience. The song was composed to give hope and courage to breast cancer patients.

 "To me, Genevieve pink ball means saving a multitude of lives from a fatal disease called breast cancer through love awareness and support. I made this song in support of the foundation. It's basically a prayer and I'm letting people know that we care and no matter what the circumstance is, we can be survivors and celebrate life if we come together and support one and other.  The mission of this year’s Genevieve Pink Ball event is to treat over 100 affected patients under an initiative called 'Adopt a Patient' where interested individuals provide financial support towards the treatment of breast cancer patients through the purchasing of tables at our event or through private donations.
